No, there is no sedative in Zylkene to make your pet feel drowsy.

What is the difference between Zylkene Chews and Zylkene capsules?

Both Zylkene Chews and Zylkene capsules have the same calming effect, the main difference between the two is how you can give it to your pet; Zylkene capsules can be given in 3 different ways, the capsules can be given as a whole, opened to sprinkle on food or dissolve in water. Zylkene Chews are given like a treat. 

Does Zylkene contain lactose?

Zylkene is lactose free and therefore should be safe in pets with lactose intolerance. We would always recommend speaking to your veterinary surgeon before starting the product if you have any concerns as to its suitability.

Is Zylkene suitable for general everyday use?

Zylkene can be used both short or long term. For long term use, please give Zylkene to your pet for one month then reassess his/her behaviour and continue if needed. We recommend speaking to your vet if it is a long term issue to ensure there are no underlying issues.

Can I use Zylkene long term?

Zylkene can be used alongside pheromones. Remembering that Zylkene is an oral supplement that will stay within your pet’s body no matter where they go.

How long does it take for Zylkene to work?

We recommend giving Zylkene 1-2 days before the predicted stressful event or change in their environment is expected to happen.

Can Zylkene be used to treat aggression?

Zylkene is not recommended in aggressive animals and we would therefore not advise its use. Our best advice would be to speak to your veterinary practice or a qualified behaviourist regarding your pet.
